The Whole Self, a creative approach to exploring our identities

In 2018 I curated a workshop series for the private members club, The Library Club. The aim of the series was to provide experiences for participants to creatively explore what it means to feel fully human.

Workshop 1: Introduction to Embodiment
Tuesday 10th April, 6 pm - 9 pm
Led by Ron de Brito, Embodiment Facilitator, Empowerment Coach & NVC Practitioner. This session is suited for anyone who has a body and IS a body. Embodied work can help with stress, purpose and fulfilment. It’s for getting out of our heads and into our bodies, giving attention to what’s happening there, our sensations and feelings. We shall be moving, but nothing strenuous: walking and simple poses and stretches.

Workshop 2: Mindfulness & The Self
Monday 16th April, 6 pm - 9 pm
Led by Nicola Lowit, an experienced mindfulness teacher and dialogue practitioner. This workshop will provide an exploration of our true selves through mindfulness.  The session will be a mix of led mindfulness practices,  interactive exercises, and group discussion. Mindfulness practice can help with dealing with stress and developing resilience, by enabling us to change the way we think and feel about our experiences.

Workshop 3: Nature & The Feminine
Wednesday 25th April, 6 pm - 9 pm
Led by The Feminine Principle founders, Jessica Ball & Danielle Allen this workshop will explore our relationship and connection to nature through creativity and dialogue. For anyone who would like to explore their natural feminine and masculine energies, regardless of gender. We will be exploring our relationship with nature and ourselves, understanding what we can learn from the wisdom and energy of the natural world.

Workshop 4: Play & Vulnerability
Wednesday 2nd May, 6 pm - 9 pm
Led by Play expert and Futurist, Yesim Kunter, and creative facilitator, Jessica Ball, this workshop will enable participants to explore their vulnerability through play methodology by using metaphors and symbols, in a relaxed, creative space. This workshop is for people who recognise the strength and growth available to us from exploring and discovering our vulnerabilities and expanding our comfort zones.

Workshop 5: Build The Future
Wednesday 9th May, 6 pm - 9 pm
Led by LEGO Serious Play facilitator, Camilla Gordon, this workshop will enable participants to experience the LEGO Serious Play methodology and explore the possibilities of extracting what is in our minds, by building it in the real world. Do you have a dream or vision of the future that you are struggling to realise. Gain clarity, perspective and strategy by using this much loved material in a professional context.

Workshop 6: Holistic Health
Tuesday 15th May, 6 pm - 9 pm
Led by Harley Street nutritionist Oyku Uman, this workshop will enable participants to learn to eat more mindfully and become more accepting of our bodies by finding ‘food freedom.’ By understanding the psychological and emotional issues that affect and drive our eating behaviour we will understand a holistic approach to health that will result in feeling more balanced, happy and healthy.
